Male, Armed with Knife, Fails to Pay Taxi Fare in Taber

Taber, Alberta – On July 7 in the early morning hours, a taxi driver called for assistance after giving a ride to a male who had a knife and was threatening to hurt people.

The male failed to pay for his fare and he exited the taxi and went to a local residence where he was confronted by members of the Taber Police Service. The male was found to be intoxicated and uncooperative.

As a result of the investigation, 35 year old Shawn Eric Hart was arrested for possessing a weapon, uttering threats, mischief and for failing to comply with a probation order. Hart was remanded in custody until July 16, 2019 for an appearance in Taber Provincial Court.
