Whitecourt RCMP charge numerous persons for drug trafficking offences

Whitecourt, Alberta – From June to July 2019 the Whitecourt General Investigation Section (GIS) in conjunction with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) engaged in an intelligence led project targeting activities of local street level drug traffickers.

As a result of the project, 31 Criminal Code or Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charges were laid against 9 people. The persons charged are as follows:

Jacob Christopher Batisse (28):

-Trafficking Methamphetamine (X 3)

Jacob Joseph Charko (18):

-Trafficking Cocaine

Jeffery Nicholas Dizak (40):

-Trafficking Cocaine (X 2)

-Possession of Fentanyl

-Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Jacob Jaylen Douglas (19):

-Trafficking Methamphetamine

-Possession of Ecstasy

-Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Cynthia Yvonne Fordham (39):

-Trafficking Methamphetamine

-Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Trae Jordan Haughie (26):

-Trafficking Cocaine

Joyelle Katherine Kerr (23):

-Trafficking Cocaine

Cody Chase Letendre (27):

-Trafficking Methamphetamine (X 3)

-Possession of Methamphetamine

-Possession of Fentanyl

-Possession of Proceeds of Crime

-Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (X 2)

-Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

-Possession of a Weapon while Prohibited (X 4)

Jeffrey Douglas Schmidt (43):

-Trafficking Cocaine (X 3)

-Possession of Proceeds of Crime

Letendre has been held in custody, Schmidt has been released on cash bail, with the remainder being released on no-cash bail.

Batisse and Haughie remain at large on outstanding warrants.

As this matter is now before the courts no further information will be provided.
