Red Deer RCMP charge woman for defrauding employer

Red Deer, Alberta – An Innisfail woman is facing multiple charges following an investigation by the Red Deer RCMP. Police allege that the suspect stole more than $54,000 from her employer between September 2015 and 2017.

The Red Deer RCMP Financial Crime Unit recently completed an investigation, and uncovered the fraud. It is alleged that the women, while serving as the Executive Director of a local member association, misused the funds of the organization for personal use.

Pamela Bernard (38) of Innisfail has been charged with 11 Criminal Code charges, including:

• Fraud exceeding $5,000 (x3)

• Fraud under $5000 (x2)

• Theft under $5000 (x2)

• Theft over $5000 (x2)

• Falsification of books/documents

Pamela Bernard’s first court appearance is scheduled for August 2, 2019 in Red Deer Provincial Court.
