Lethbridge Police investigating sexual assault of child at Henderson Lake

Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police are investigating after an 8-year-old boy disclosed that a male sexually assaulted him in a public washroom at Henderson Lake.

The matter was reported to police on June 12 – the same day the boy disclosed the details to his mother. Investigation determined the boy was attending a birthday party at Henderson Lake on June 1, 2019 when he was approached by an older, unknown male. After being offered candy, the boy accompanied the male to the washroom and was sexually assaulted. Following the incident, a witness observed the male with the boy near the water and called out to the child to come back to the party. The male appeared nervous and quickly walked away northbound.

The suspect is described as an older male with short grey hair, a medium build and was wearing khaki shorts and a red plaid shirt.
