Morley, Alberta – On August 16th 2019, Cochrane RCMP with the help of the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit located and arrested Malik Holloway on his outstanding warrants in Morley Alberta. Furthermore, on August 18th 2019, a second suspect, a 23 year old male from Morley was arrested by the Cochrane Crime Reduction and General Investigation Section and has charges pending.
The 33 year old victim’s condition has improved, was released from hospital and continues to recover from his injuries.
The Cochrane RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance throughout this investigation.
RCMP are seeking public assistance in locating Malik Holloway in relation to an attempted murder that occurred on Aug. 4, 2019 on the Stoney Nakoda Reserve west of Cochrane. On Sunday at approximately 6:00 p.m. the Cochrane RCMP responded to a report of a male in serious medical distress. Upon arrival of the officers it was determined that the male received serious injuries as the result of an assault. The victim was transported to a Calgary area hospital with serious undetermined injuries.
As a result of the investigation the Cochrane RCMP have obtained a warrant for the arrest of Malik Holloway (21) of Morley, Alta. Malik Holloway is described as an indigenous male having black hair and brown eyes. Holloway is approximately 160 lbs and 5’11” with several small tattoos on his face. including a small 1” cross under his left eye (photo attached).
