Parkland RCMP investigate break and enters and make arrests

Spruce Grove, Alberta – Two break and enters occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 11, 2019. The first one occurred at Brookwood School at 1:44 a.m. when members responded to an alarm. Suspects gained entry to the school by damaging the door and then vandalized a classroom. RCMP members searched the school; the suspects were not located.

At 4:07 a.m., RCMP responded to a second commercial alarm at a business in the vicinity of Brookwood School. Surveillance footage showed three male youths inside the business. When RCMP arrived, the youth were no longer at the location. RCMP Police Dog Services were deployed and the team successfully tracked the youth to a residence.

The three youth were arrested and charged with:

• Break and enter a business

• Possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000

• Mischief under $5000

• Disguised with intent to commit offence

The youth were responsible for the break and enter at the school. The investigation is ongoing.

At 3:00 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2019, Parkland RCMP responded to a commercial alarm at a local business in Stony Plain, Alta. The RCMP arrived at the location and observed the businesses’ glass door was smashed. A witness advised the suspect was still inside. The suspect was located and arrested without incident.

Tex Ouellet (39) of Grande Prairie, Alta. was charged with Break and Enter. He was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released on a Recognizance to appear in Stony Plain Provincial Court on Wednesday Sept. 4, 2019.
