Serious Incident in Surrey, B.C. with IHIT engagement

Surrey, BC – On September 6th at approximately 0032 hours, the Surrey RCMP responded to an altercation in the 1600 block of 160 Street.

Upon police attendance, an adult victim was located suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite all attempts to revive the individual the victim succumbed to their injuries.

The parties involved are known to one another and there is no public safety risk known at this time.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP Major Crime Section.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this time.
Traffic will be affected for an unknown amount of time with 160 Street shut down for both north and south bound traffic between 16th Avenue and Alder Place.
