Clearwater County, Alberta – On the afternoon of September 7th, 2019, Sundre RCMP responded to a report of a missing male from Mountain Aire Lodge in Clearwater County. Terrance Kereluke of Regina, Saskatchewan, was last seen at approximately 9:00 a.m. on the same day, going for a walk. Staff members searched the surrounding area without locating him.
A follow-up search was conducted by Sundre RCMP members with the assistance of Police Dog Services and was unsuccessful. Sundre RCMP continued search efforts on the morning of September 8th, 2019, with the assistance of Search and Rescue, a search helicopter crew, and the fire services of Sundre and Clearwater County.
On September 11, 2019 at approximately 2:00 p.m., searchers located the body of Terrance Kereluke in the water near the shore of the Red Deer River. The exact cause of death at this time has yet to be determined and Sundre RCMP is currently working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The matter remains under investigation but is not criminal in nature.
