Foothills County man charged trying to enter USA while in possession of a loaded prohibited pistol and a loaded shotgun

Cardston, Alberta – On September 18, 2019 Cardston RCMP with assistance of United States Customs and Border Protection Officers responded to a complaint of a suspect trying to enter into the United States of America while in possession of a loaded prohibited pistol and a loaded shotgun.

The investigation revealed that the male suspect was also in possession of pills suspected to be opioids.

Manish Sihota (38) of Foothills County, has been charged with Controlled Drugs & Substances Act offences and numerous firearms offences including allegations of breaching a lifetime firearms prohibition order from a previous criminal conviction.

Sihota is scheduled for a bail hearing on September 23, 2019 at Cardston Provincial Court.

As this matter is now before the courts no further information will be provided.
