Cochrane, Alberta – On Thursday, October 3, 2019, at approximately 5:30 pm, RCMP were alerted to two suspicious vehicles travelling westbound on Hwy. 1A coming into Cochrane. As police arrived in the area, one of the vehicles stopped at the bottom of Cochrane Hill and all four occupants fled on foot.
Several Cochrane residents flagged down police or called in to provide information on the suspects’ locations and direction of travel as they ran through backyards and jumped fences. As a result, within minutes three of the suspects were found and safely taken into custody.
The suspects, who were all youth out of Calgary, have been charged with a number of offences including: fail to stop for police, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, breach of probation, and breach of recognizance.
Cochrane RCMP would like to thank the local residents for their alertness and information that aided police in quickly locating the suspects.
