Man arrested in two alleged sexual assaults on TTC bus

Toronto, Ontario – The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in two sexual assault investigations.

On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at 2 p.m., officers responded to a call for a sexual assault at Sheppard West Subway Station.

It is alleged that:

– a woman boarded a TTC bus

– a man sat down beside her ignoring the empty seats

– he sexually assaulted her

– the woman told the bus operator who called police

On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at approximately 2:25 p.m., officers responded to a call for a sexual assault at Jane Subway Station.

– a 24-year-old woman was on board a TTC bus

– a man sat down beside her

– he sexually assaulted her

– she fled the bus, the suspect stayed on board

On Thursday, October 17, 2019, Nam Ly, 62, of Toronto, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Sexual Assault

2) Sexual Assault

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Friday, October 18, 2019, at 10 a.m., in courtroom 306.
