Suspects Travel into Oncoming Traffic and Strike Van: Red Deer RCMP

Red Deer, Alberta – Two females are facing charges after a stolen vehicle from Sylvan Lake was involved in multiple collisions.

At approximately 9 a.m. on October 23, Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to a call for a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was observed entering Red Deer, driving erratically on Highway 2. An initial pursuit was initiated by Red Deer RCMP but was terminated quickly in the interest of public safety.

A short time later, the vehicle was involved in a collision, striking two vehicles at 51 Avenue and 48 Street. The vehicle continued driving northbound in the southbound lanes of 51 Avenue, then turning west on 59 Avenue.

Travelling into oncoming traffic, the vehicle struck a van. Two female occupants then exited the vehicle and attempted to steal the van. At that time, police detained and arrested both females.

No injuries were reported during this incident.
