Two boys arrested in a string of robberies in Scarborough, Finch Avenue TTC bus route

Toronto, Ontario – The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of arrests made in a string of violent robberies that have taken place along the Finch Avenue TTC bus route in North East Scarborough.

It is alleged that:

– two males followed people as they got off the bus

– once in residential neighbourhoods, the victims would be set upon

– they were assaulted and in one instance stabbed

– they were robbed of personal items

– then the two males fled

On Friday, November 1, 2019, at 7:50 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle with suspects believed to be involved in these robberies. One of the suspects fled on foot with officers in pursuit. The suspect discarded a loaded semi-automatic Colt pistol.

A search of the car uncovered an 11″ serrated machete.

A 16-year-old boy, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
2) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
3) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
4) Possession of Firearm with Ammunition
5) Tampering with Serial Number
6) Careless Transport of a Firearm
7) Carry Concealed Weapon
8) two counts of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
9) four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
10) 12 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance
11) two counts of Robbery
12) Robbery with a Weapon
13) Assault with a Weapon
14) Possession of Cocaine

A 16-year-old boy, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Robbery
2) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
3) Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
4) Fail to comply with Recognizance

They appeared in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

Investigators believe there may be other victims.
