Man wanted in abduction of 8-year-old girl, Blaydon Public School: Toronto Police

ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION IN TORONTO, ONTARIO

Toronto, Ontario – The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance to identify a man wanted in the abduction of an 8-year-old girl.

On Friday, November 1, 2019, at approximately 8:53 p.m., officers responded to a call for a suspicious incident near Blaydon Public School.

It is reported that:

– an 8-year-old girl was walking in the area at 3:30 p.m.

– she was approached by a strange man

– he grabbed her, covering her mouth with his hand

– he dragged her 60 metres to an SUV

– he tried to force her into the SUV

– the little girl broke free and ran away

He is described as white, 40-50, 5’8″, skinny build, and has short grey hair. He was wearing a blue and pink t-shirt, grey sweat pants, and black dress shoes. He drove away in what is believed to be a red Mazda CX-5 with tinted windows.

Security camera video and an image of the car, believed to be a red Mazda CX-5 the suspect used to get away, are now released.
