Parkland RCMP arrest male for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two police cars hit

Spruce Grove, Alberta – On Oct. 31, 2019 at approximately 2:00 a.m. Parkland RCMP were patrolling and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and erratic driving patterns were observed. A spike belt was successfully deployed and when RCMP attempted to make contact with the driver, the suspect attempted to drive away, striking two police vehicles. No one was injured during the incident.

Daniel Harris (32) of Parkland County, Alta. was charged with:

• Flight from peace officer

• Dangerous operation

• Assault peace officer (x2)

• Resist peace officer

Daniel Harris was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and was remanded into custody. His first appearance is scheduled for Nov.6, 2019 at Stony Plain Provincial Court.
