2 men charged with robbery: Lethbridge Police Service

Lethbridge, Alberta – On November 05, 2019 at approximately 9:23 P.M. Lethbridge Police received a call from a victim stating he had been bear sprayed and robbed while in the parking lot of Winners at the Park Place Mall. When police arrived, the victim told them that he had been cleaning snow off of his car when he was approached by two black males who demanded the victim’s wallet. One of the suspects then pulled out bear spray and pepper sprayed the victim. The victim managed to get away in his vehicle and call police.

The investigation determined that a second victim was sitting in the front passenger seat of a nearby car when he was approached by the same two males who demanded his cell phone. The second victim also managed to get away in a vehicle.

Neither victim was injured during the incidents and did not require medical attention.

A short time later, patrol members located and arrested the males inside the McDonald’s on Scenic Drive South and a can of pepper spray was recovered from one of the males.

Chance Tristan Bennett, 21, of Calgary is charged with two counts of robbery. Bennett was subsequently released by a Justice of the Peace on November 6, 2019 and is scheduled to appear in court on November 13, 2019.

Bak Madut Nyang, 20 of Medicine Hat is charged with two counts of robbery. Nyang was subsequently released by a Justice of the Peace on November 6, 2019 and is scheduled to appear in court on November 13, 2019.
