Airdrie RCMP arrest male responsible for multiple sexual assaults

Airdrie, Alberta – After months of intensive investigation, Airdrie RCMP have charged a male with numerous criminal code offences in relation to the incidents where a man on a bicycle was assaulting females.

Airdrie RCMP sent an initial media release on October 16, 2019 regarding a male on a bicycle riding up behind women and as he drove past them, he hit them on their buttocks. After he did this he rode away from the scene. After this media release, other victims came forward to report this happened to them. At this point the suspect then changed his behaviour and committed different sexual related offences while on foot.

This investigation was coordinated by Airdrie General Investigation Section who incorporated assistance from several units including but not limited to Airdrie General Duty members, Airdrie Crime Reduction Unit, Criminal Analysts and Provincial Sheriffs. Members of the public were also very instrumental in solving these crimes as they provided important information during extensive neighbourhood inquiries.

Adam James Ferrier (18 yrs) of Airdrie, Alta has been charged with 18 Criminal Code charges which include:

• Sexual Assault (x3)

• Voyeurism (x4)

• Fail to comply with conditions (x7)

• Sexual Interference

• Indecent Act

• Commit an offence while masked

Adam Ferrier has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Airdrie Provincial Court on November 21, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
