Head-on collision claims two lives in Shediac, N.B.

Shediac, New Brunswick – The Southeast District RCMP is investigating a head-on crash that claimed two lives in Shediac, N.B.

On November 7, 2019 just after 10:30 a.m., Shediac RCMP responded to a call of a head-on collision between an eastbound bound SUV and a westbound car on Highway 15.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the car crossed the centre line and collided with the SUV. As a result of the collision, the car caught on fire.

The male driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene. A 64-year-old female passenger in the SUV also died at the scene. The driver, a woman in her seventies was taken to hospital with what are considered to be non-life-threatening injuries. Both women are from Ontario.

The investigation is ongoing.
