Evade Police – Suspect In Custody: Saskatoon Police

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – At 10:12 a.m. today a member of the public called the Saskatoon Police Service stating that they were following a truck towing two stolen snowmobiles. Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop in the Brighton residential neighbourhood.

The suspect failed to stop and evaded police leaving Brighton and going eastbound on highway 5. The suspect turned southbound on Zimmerman Ro and then back westbound on the 8 St extension. Stopsticks were deployed disabling several of the vehicle and trailer tires.

The suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. A K9 track was initiated and a 47 year old male was arrested. He sustained injuries consistent with a dog bite.

The man faces charges of Dangerous Driving, Evading Police, Possession of Stolen Property Valued Over $5000 x 2, Fail to comply with a Court Order and has several Criminal Code warrants from the R.C.M.P.

He will see a Justice of the Peace.
