Fort Chipewyan RCMP charge male with aggravated assault

Fort Chipewyan, Alberta – On Nov. 7, 2019 at approximately 1:07 a.m., Fort Chipewyan RCMP responded to a stabbing at a residence in Fort Chipewyan.

Police were en-route to the residence and located an adult male victim with serious life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to Fort McMurray via Medi-Vac and then to an Edmonton hospital.

RCMP have charged Jericho Mercredi-Cardinal (29) of Fort Chipewyan with aggravated assault. He remains in custody. His next appearance will be in Fort McMurray Provincial Court on Nov. 12, 2019.

As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be released.
