Investigation continues into discharging of a firearm in a home in Dieppe, N.B.

Dieppe, New Brunswick – The Codiac Regional RCMP is investigating an incident where a firearm was discharged in a home in Dieppe.

On November 9, 2019, at approximately 1:00 p.m. police responded to a call that a firearm had been discharged in a residence on Chartersville Road. A 28-year-old man was injured in the incident and was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly after police responded, a 29-year-old man was arrested a short distance from the residence. He is being held in custody for breaching parole.

The investigation is continuing. Residents may see a number of police officers in the Chartersville Road and Amirault Street area on November 10 as investigators continue their investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or may have seen someone suspicious in the area of Chartersville Road and Amirault Street between 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on November 9 is asked to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400.
