Firearms, Ammunition and Ballistic Vest Seized in London, Ontario

London, Ontario – Three Londoners are facing charges after two firearms, a ballistic vest and ammunition was seized yesterday.

On Tuesday, November 12, 2019, members of the London Police Service Emergency Response Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Lanyard Street.

The following items were seized by members of the LPS Guns and Drugs Section:

• Prohibited shotgun

• .22 caliber improvised firearm (‘zip gun’)

• Approximately 1500 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition

• 108 shotgun shells

• 134 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition

• Ballistic vest

As a result of the investigation, Jason Travis Dean, 24, Peter Norman Dean, 63, and Katherine Morton, 25, all of London, are jointly charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

• Careless storage of a firearm; and

• Two counts of unlicensed person possess prohibited/restricted weapon.

Jason Dean is expected to appear in London court today in relation to the charges, while Peter Dean and Katherine Morton both have court dates of December 23, 2019.

The Guns and Drugs Section is comprised of members of the London Police Service, OPP and RCMP. This investigation has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
