Inuvik RCMP investigating aggravated assault; one man is charged

Inuvik, Northwest Territories – A man sustained a serious injury after an aggravated assault in Inuvik.

At approximately 7:54 am, on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019, Inuvik RCMP received a call for service about an aggravated assault at a residence.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, admitted himself to Inuvik hospital for treatment. He was later transferred to Edmonton for further treatment of a serious, but non-life-threatening injury.

Inuvik RCMP started an investigation and soon after, arrested and charged Dustin Travis Rogers, 24-year-old, from Inuvik. Dustin Travis Rogers has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault Sec 268(2) CC.

Dustin Travis Rogers is scheduled to appear in court in Inuvik on January 21st, 2020.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
