RCMP charge two stunters: 193 km/hr and 168 km/hr

Cumberland and Colchester Counties, Nova Scotia – The RCMP’s Northwest Traffic Services, which cover Cumberland and Colchester Counties, charged two drivers for stunting on November 14.

At 11:31 a.m., a 23-year-old man from Dartmouth was clocked by police at 193 km/hr on Hwy. 104 in Sutherland’s Lake, Cumberland County. Police initiated a traffic stop and charged the driver for stunting.

At 2:44 p.m., a 22-year-old man from Great Village was clocked by police at 168 km/hr on Hwy. 104 in Glenholme, Colchester County. Police initiated a traffic stop and charged the driver for stunting.

Both vehicles were seized and towed from the scene. The drivers’ licences were suspended for seven days pursuant to the Motor Vehicle Act. The fine for stunting in Nova Scotia is $2,422.50. The RCMP want to remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads. Road Safety is a priority for the RCMP, and drivers are reminded to make it their priority as well.
