Wood Buffalo RCMP Investigate Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 63

Fort McMurray, Alberta –  (9:10 PM) On November 15th, 2019 at approximately 6:20 p.m. multiple reports were received of semi-tractors stuck in the ditch and blocking highway 63 in the southbound lanes at kilometre 165.

A two vehicle collision involving a car and semi-tractor was reported at the same location.

Road conditions at this time are described as extremely icy, due to freezing rain.

Currently, the southbound lanes of highway 63 are closed as the RCMP investigate the collision and attempt to have the vehicles blocking the roadway removed.

Southbound traffic is currently being diverted at highway 881. Northbound traffic remains unaffected.
