Calgary, Alberta – Methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine worth an estimated $300,000 were seized following an ALERT Calgary investigation.
Three suspected Calgary drug dealers were arrested and a home in the Riverbend neighbourhood was searched on November 13, 2019. ALERT’s Calgary organized crime team conducted the investigation with help from Calgary Police Service and Medicine Hat Police Service.
“ALERT will continue to work in tandem with our policing partners to tackle organized crime, and their complacency in harming our communities with opioids and meth,” said Sgt. Matthew Pumphrey, ALERT Calgary.
The value of the drugs seized is estimated at $300,000 and included:
1.3 kilograms of methamphetamine;
1.2 kilograms of cocaine;
255 grams of fentanyl;
28 kilograms of a cocaine buffing agent; and
A loaded, sawed-off shotgun with its serial number defaced was also seized. ALERT will submit the firearm for forensic testing to determine if it was used in any other crimes.
Three people were arrested and together face 38 offences related to firearms and drugs:
Leslie Ma, a 27-year-old man;
Vincent Ma, a 36-year-old man; and
Anny Vo, a 26-year-old woman.
