Grande Prairie RCMP Charge Two After Recovering Vehicle Stolen from Clairmont

Grande Prairie, Alberta – On November 20th at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Grande Prairie Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) attended a complaint of a stolen truck at a gas station in Clairmont.

On arrival, RCMP located the truck and activated their emergency equipment. While attempting to flee, the suspect truck made contact with one of the police vehicles. The suspect truck continued north from the gas station, swerved to avoid another police vehicle and lost control. The truck hit the ditch, struck a fire hydrant and several trees before coming to a stop. The driver and passenger were arrested without further incident.

Vehicle Theft

Trevor Unrau (36) and Travis Paradon-Netzlaw (27) are facing multiple charges including: Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 x2, and Possession of break-in instruments. Unrau is also facing charges of Mischief over $5,000, Mischief under $5000, Flight from police, Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and fail to comply with Recognizance x2.

Both males are to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court December 9, 2019.
