Wheatland County, Alberta – The Strathmore RCMP responded shortly after 5:16 this morning to a 911 call of a single vehicle collision. EMS and Fire attended. On scene, it was determined that one of the vehicle occupants, a 17-year-old male from Siksika Nation, was declared deceased.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was travelling eastbound on Township Road 232 near Range Road 250, when it went off road and entered the north ditch. The vehicle rolled several times before it came to rest.
Three other occupants of the vehicle were transported to a Calgary hospital; one went via STARS air ambulance and the other two by ground ambulance. All are believed to be in stable condition.
The RCMP collision analyst attended to conduct a scene examination. The cause of the collision and all circumstances of the incident remain under investigation by the RCMP.
