Hinton RCMP request public stay clear of evacuation area in Brule, Alberta – UPDATED

Hinton, Alta. – Hinton RCMP can confirm that the evacuation in Brule has been lifted. Residents are being advised that gas to the community has been shut off and it is anticipated this may continue for several hours. No further updates will be provided by RCMP.

BACKGROUND

Hinton, Alberta – On Dec. 13, 2019, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Hinton RCMP were called to assist in the evacuation and containment of an area in Brule where a gas line had been damaged.

Hinton RCMP are currently assisting in evacuating areas near a construction site located in the community of Brule. No injuries have been reported.

Hinton RCMP are asking the public to stay clear of the area as an evacuation is in place.

An update will be provided once the evacuation is lifted.
