Police determined that the threat had been made by a 17 year old who was not a student at LCI. Staff at LCI made the decision to lock the outer perimeter doors of the school while police investigated and classes continued to operate normally during this time.

A short time later, school resource officers located and arrested the 17 year old suspect at his place of work in the north end of the city.

There was no immediate threat to either the students or the school and the lock and hold was then lifted by LCI staff.

Investigation is ongoing to determine if charges will be laid against the 17 year old.

No media availability will be held.
