Morley, Alberta – On January 3rd 2020 Cochrane received a complaint of a fatal pedestrian hit and run collision on Morley Road in the Morley Town site.
Upon arrival police located a 40 year old woman from Morley deceased. Soon after police arrival the individuals in the vehicle returned to the scene and approached police. A 19 year old woman from Morley is charged with the following;
-Failure to stop after an accident causing death section 320.16(3) of the Criminal Code
-Possession of Stolen Property under $5000 section 355(b) of the Criminal Code
-Driving without a licence section 54(1)(a) of the Traffic Safety Act
-Driving without Insurance 51(a) of the Traffic Safety Act
The investigation into the cause of the collision continues however police believe speed played a roll and further charges are pending. Alcohol was not a factor in this collision .
