Lloydminster RCMP charge two after residential break and enter

Lloydminster, Alberta – In the early hours of Jan. 9, Lloydminster RCMP were notified of a break and enter to a residence in the 4100 block of 53 Avenue. Members of the Lloydminster Detachment with the assistance of Police Dog Services (PDS) apprehended two individuals fleeing the scene without incident. Lloydminster Forensic Identification Section attended the residence.

Glenn Junior Davis (44), and John Andrew Penny (50), both of no-fixed-address are charged with the following:

• Breaking and entering, and committing theft;

• Mischief

Penny is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

Additionally, Davis is charged with:

• Possession of a controlled substance;

• Possession of break-in instrument

Both Davis and Penny were released after a Judicial Interim Hearing for Alberta Provincial Court on Jan. 28, 2020.

Lloydminster RCMP would like to remind the public of the following safety tips to keep your possessions safe:

• Speak with your neighbours when you are leaving town for an extended period of time;

• Have someone check on your property periodically;

• Do not post on any social media that you are leaving town;

• Have all exterior/interior lights on a timer;

• Put a hold on packages, or have someone pick them up.

“RCMP encourage the public to report any criminal or suspicious activity to police,” according to Const. Michael Hagel of the Lloydminster RCMP Detachment. “Reports tell us here to look, who to look for, and where to patrol in the future. If you see a crime in progress, dial 911.”

The investigation into this matter is still on-going; there may be two other suspects involved in the file. An update will be released when the investigation is concluded.
