Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador – Gander RCMP arrested a 29-year-old Gander man for impaired driving on January 24, 2020, following a head-on collision.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., Gander RCMP responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision on the Trans-Canada Highway near the Comfort Inn. The driver of one of the vehicles failed a roadside breath test and was transported to Gander Detachment where he provided breath samples over the legal limit.
The man’s licence was suspended and his vehicle seized and impounded. He was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date to face charges of impaired driving.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 22-year-old woman from Gander, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released.
