Camrose Police Service Report to February 6, 2020

Camrose, Alberta – February 6, 2020 – A pedestrian reported that he was struck by a burgundy van while using the crosswalk on main street. The pedestrian was not injured and Police are investigating.

Loss prevention at a west end business contacted Police after apprehending a shoplifter. The 58 year old female was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and released on an appearance notice.

Police were contacted by a homeowner after he scared off a male trying to get into his house with a crowbar. Police were able to track the suspect’s footprints which had cut through several yards and also led to several locked doors. The footprints ended at an apartment building where Police located the male inside the utility room. The male who was high on drugs was arrested and found to be in possession of a stolen electronic device and a quantity of methamphetamine. The male was charged with trespass at night, Break & Enter, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Breaching his Conditions. The 39 year old is in custody waiting on a bail hearing.

Lock it or Lose it. A female reported that her wallet had been stolen from her unlocked vehicle while parked at the curling rink. Four transactions had been made utilizing her cards since the theft. Police are investigating.

February 5, 2020

A witness contacted Police from a fast food restaurant to report that a young male was waving around a knife. Police attended and the male was arrested without further incident. The 18 year old who was high on illicit drugs was charged with possession of a weapon and breaching his probation.
