Springdale, Newfoundland and Labrador – This morning a 50-year-old man, from Fort McMurray, Alberta, was issued a speeding ticket and licence suspension, and had his vehicle impounded following a traffic stop on the TCH near Springdale.
At approximately 10:35 a.m., an officer observed a white SUV travelling at a high rate of speed. Radar readings determined the vehicle was travelling at speeds as high as 157 km/hr in a 100 km/h zone. The man was charge under the Highway Traffic Act for speeding more than 51 km/hr above the posted speed limit.
