65-year-old man arrested following seizure of drugs and illegal cigarettes

Saint-Léolin, New Brunswick – A 65-year-old man from Saint-Léolin, N.B., was recently arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a home in the community.

On February 14, 2020, around 5 p.m., members from the Northeast District RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit, along with the Caraquet RCMP detachment and the RCMP’s Police Dog Services executed a search warrant at a home on Saint Joseph Boulevard, in connection with a drug investigation that began in December 2019.

During the search, police seized quantities of drugs, believed to be methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as contraband cigarettes.

A 65-year-old man was arrested at the home and was released pending a court appearance at a later date. He is scheduled to appear in Caraquet Provincial Court on June 9.

The investigation is ongoing.
