Death Investigation – Police and Coroner: Regina Police Service

Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, is conducting a death investigation after the discovery of a deceased male.

Police were dispatched at approximately 8:00 a.m., on Sunday, February 23, 2020, to the 800 block of Broadway Avenue for a report of a male who was lying unresponsive just off the sidewalk. Police and EMS attended and located a twenty-four year old adult male, who was confirmed deceased. Officers secured the immediate area and requested the additional resources of the Forensic Identification unit, as well as the Coroner.

A number of investigative processes are still underway with respect to the investigation. The identification of the deceased male has been confirmed and notification of his next of kin has been completed, however the identity of the deceased male is not being done at this time in order to allow the investigation to continue. Foul play is not suspected in the death.

Police are working in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner to fully investigate and clarify the circumstances surrounding this death.
