Second Degree Murder charge laid against mother in death of one-month old female infant

Kindersley, Saskatchewan – On September 27, 2018, Kindersley RCMP responded to a report of a one-month old female infant in cardiac arrest. Life saving efforts were made by responding EMS and doctors at the local hospital, but they were not successful and the infant was pronounced deceased.

On September 28, 2018, an autopsy was conducted to determine the cause of death of the child. Information obtained during the autopsy lead investigators to believe the death was suspicious in nature. Therefore, the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation.
