UPDATE 3: Red Deer RCMP – Police presence on 49 Street downtown, Calgary male charged

Red Deer, Alberta – Charges are laid against an individual in relation to Wednesday’s incident that saw a heavy police presence at 4909 49 Street.

38-year-old David Anderson of Calgary is charged with uttering threats and mischief.

On Feb. 25, David phoned a business in the Millenium Centre threatening harm and violence to staff. Red Deer RCMP quickly responded and determined the threat was not credible. David was arrested in Calgary on Feb. 26 and is scheduled to appear in court on Mar. 6, 2020.

Red Deer RCMP – police presence on 49 Street downtown – UPDATE 2

Red Deer, Alta. – Red Deer RCMP are no longer on scene of an incident at 49 Street and 49 Avenue.

At approximately 2:40 p.m. this afternoon, Red Deer RCMP were made aware of a security threat at 4909 49 Street. After investigation, police found no risk to the public and normal operations in the area have resumed.
Red Deer RCMP would like to thank the public for the cooperation and patience in regards to this incident.
