Beaverlodge, Alberta – On March 9, 2020, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Beaverlodge RCMP responded to a call of suspicious persons trespassing on private yards in the Village of Hythe, Alta.
Beaverlodge RCMP attended and located a male who was known to be wanted for outstanding warrants stemming from an investigation into a theft from a well site in Sept. 2019. Police advised the male he was under arrest and he fled on foot. Following a foot pursuit, the male was located and arrested without incident. A search of the male resulted in the seizure of a loaded rifle and three knives.
Craig Horseman (28), of Horse Lake, Alta., has been charged with the following:
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x4)
• Carrying a concealed weapon (x4)
• Resisting/ obstructing a peace officer
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Unsafe storage of a firearm
Following a judicial hearing, Horseman was released on numerous conditions including a curfew and is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on March 18, 2020.
