Edson RCMP investigation into stabbing results in male charged with attempted murder

Edson, Alberta – On March 18, 2020, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Edson RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing that occurred at an apartment building in the area of 56 Street and 11 Avenue in Edson. A 21-year-old male from Edson had suffered a stab wound and was taken to hospital by emergency medical services. The 21-year-old male’s injuries are considered non-life threatening. Edson RCMP believe that this was an isolated incident.

Edson RCMP’s investigation led to the arrest of Dylan Aldoff (19) of Edson on March 18, 2020, at approximately 8 a.m. At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of illegal drugs believed to be MDMA and paraphernalia associated to drug trafficking. Aldoff is facing the following charges:

• Attempted murder

• Aggravated assault

• Assault

• Break and enter with intent

• Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm (x2)

• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

• Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

Following a judicial hearing, Aldoff was remanded into custody to speak to bail on March 20, 2020 in Edmonton Provincial Court.
