All communities, Yukon – For the safety of Yukoners and our employees, and in an effort to limit the potential spread of COVID-19, Yukon RCMP will be suspending all non-essential police services, effective March 18, 2020.
Non-essential, in this case, means any service the Yukon RCMP offers that does not relate directly to the safety of the public.
We will be suspending non-essential services offered at our front counters such as:
Criminal Record checks;
Vulnerable sector checks;
Fingerprinting for non-criminal matters.
To access front counter services, beyond those listed above, please call your local detachment at 867-(local exchange)-5555. In Whitehorse, call 867-667-5551.
“Yukon RCMP maintains our commitment to keeping our communities safe throughout this time and will continue to conduct essential police services as normal,” says Yukon RCMP Commanding Officer C/Supt. Scott Sheppard. “We are consulting regularly with Yukon Government health officials and Federal health officials and will continue to evaluate when we can resume all non-essential police services.”
As always, in an emergency situation, please call 911. To report a crime or file a complaint, please call our non-emergency line at 867-667-5555.
We will update the public with more information as the situation changes. For more information on COVID-19, please visit Yukon Government and Health Canada’s websites.
Thank you for your patience as we take steps to manage this unprecedented situation.
