Camrose, Alberta – March 24, 2020 – Police received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically in the downtown area. The 18 year old driver was arrested when it was determined that he had stolen the vehicle from his parents. The male was charged with theft and later released after appearing before a justice of the peace.
A convenience store contacted Police after observing a male stealing merchandise. The male was located nearby hiding under a commercial vehicle. After resisting his arrest the male was transported to Police headquarters and charged with theft, possession of stolen property, resist arrest and two counts of breaching his probation. The male is in custody waiting on a bail hearing.
Witnesses contacted Police after observing a vehicle strike a parked car and then flee the collision scene. Police observed the vehicle parked on Mt. Pleasant Drive and when Police approached the vehicle, the female driver sped away. The same vehicle was later observed in the downtown area and a traffic stop was conducted. The female initially stopped for Police but again sped away. The female driver who was identified by Police is facing multiple charges.

Lock it or Lose it. Numerous vehicles had been rummaged through overnight while parked in the Creekview subdivision resulting in a variety of items being stolen including cash, a wallet, bank & credit cards as well as other personal information. A 2013 Dodge Journey was also stolen from the same area.
The loss prevention officer at a west-end business contacted Police regarding a theft in progress. Two men were observed to place electronic items in their cart then place large bags of pet food on top, The men proceeded through the check-out without paying for the electronics.The men were arrested and charged with theft and possession of stolen property and released on an undertaking.
Curb the Danger. Police received a 911 call regarding a vehicle that was eastbound on Camrose Drive near the casino which was hitting the curb. Police were able to catch up to the vehicle near the junction with highway 56 where the female driver was arrested for impaired driving. The 44 year old provided samples that were 3 times the legal limit. The female was charged with impaired driving and released into the care of a family member.
A west end business reported a male who had stolen 4 bottles of cologne worth about $400. Police identified the male through video surveillance and the male was later located, arrested and charged with theft and possession of stolen property.

Police are investigating three break & enters to holiday trailers which had occurred within a storage facility on March 14th. Police have reviewed video surveillance along with other evidence to identify the person responsible.
Police were advised of a sexual assault which had occurred on March 16th. Both involved individuals reside oustide of Camrsoe and Police are working with other agencies to investigate.
Police observed a vehicle being operated with a license plate that did not match and conducted a traffic stop. It was determined that the vehicle also did not have insurance. The male driver was charged accordingly and his vehicle was towed.
