Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic/Crime Reduction Unit seize Drugs and Cash; “$20,488.00 in Canadian Currency was seized”

Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta – On March 14th, 2020, the Fort Saskatchewan Traffic/Crime Reduction Unit, and General Investigation Section along with assistance from members of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT), concluded a lengthy drug trafficking investigation within the City of Fort Saskatchewan.

Hardip Rai (44) of Fort Saskatchewan was charged with six offences which include:

• Trafficking a Controlled Substance – Cocaine x 4

• Possession for The Purpose of Trafficking

• Possession of Proceeds of Crime

A total of 18 grams of individually packaged cocaine and a taxi cab was seized upon his arrest. A search warrant was executed at Rai’s residence, where $20,488.00 in Canadian Currency was seized.

Following a judicial hearing, Rai was released on conditions and is set to appear in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court on April 9th, 2020
