Rigolet woman dies after snowmobile goes through sea ice outside of Rigolet

Rigolet, Newfoundland and Labrador – A 29-year-old Rigolet woman is deceased after the snowmobile she was driving went through the sea ice at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Sunday evening, outside of Rigolet.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. on March 29, 2020, Rigolet RCMP received the report and started a response involving Rigolet Ground Search and Rescue and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.

Local community residents and some members of Rigolet Ground Search and Rescue were already in the area. The woman’s body was recovered from the water by a local resident using a boat.
