Man dies following collision between motorcycle and transport truck: New Brunswick

Moncton, New Brunswick – A 28-year-old man from Cap-Pelé, N.B., has died following a collision between a motorcycle and transport truck in Moncton, N.B.

On April 20, 2020, shortly after 8:30 p.m., members from the Riverview detachment along with members from the Codiac detachment responded to a report of a collision on Trans-Canada Highway 2 near kilometre 454 in Moncton, N.B.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the motorcycle travelling westbound collided with the back of a transport truck that was travelling in the same direction. The transport truck was not hauling a trailer at the time of the collision. The driver of the motorcycle and lone occupant, died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the transport truck was not injured.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the cause of the crash is under investigation. Speed is believed to have been one of the contributing factors in the collision.
