Whitecourt RCMP seek to locate man wanted after Medicine Hat couple taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries – ARRESTED

Grande Prairie, Alta. – (May 1) Telford Randall Howe (39) was arrested on his outstanding warrant this morning as a result of a tip received by the public.

He remains in police custody and was previously charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, commit an indicated offence while disguised, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public from an incident on April 16, 2020 in Whitecourt, Alta.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate the homicide and are asking anyone with information in relation to the incident from April 25, 2020, that occurred in the area of 106 Avenue and 102 Street in Grande Prairie, to contact Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-831-2340, or your local police.

BACKGROUND

Whitecourt, Alberta – On April 16, 2020, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Whitecourt RCMP were called to a hotel near Highway 43 as two occupants of a hotel room had been in need of emergency medical assistance for injuries of a suspicious nature. A 46-year-old female and a 39-year-old male from Medicine Hat, Alta., were taken to hospital separately with non-life threatening injuries.

Further investigation resulted in Whitecourt RCMP obtaining warrants for the arrest of Telford Randall Howe for the following charges:

• Aggravated assault

• Assault with a weapon

• Commit an indictable offence while disguised

• Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public

Telford Randall Howe is also known as “Gremlin” or “G”. The current whereabouts of Telford Howe are unknown; however, he was last believed to be in the Grande Prairie area.
