UPDATED: Parkland RCMP advise of intersections blocked in Stony Plain, Alberta

Stony Plain, Alberta – On May 13, 2020 at 8:26 p.m. Parkland RCMP were dispatched to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train.  The pedestrian did not survive.  As a result, three train crossings were blocked within Stony Plain.  The crossings opened at approximately midnight.

The investigation is closed and no further information will be provided.

BACKGROUND

Stony Plain, Alberta – (10:25 PM) Parkland RCMP are currently investigating a serious accident involving a pedestrian being struck by a train. The intersections at the railroad tracks located at 48th Street, Golf Course Road and Boundary Road in Stony Plain remain blocked. These intersections will remain blocked until approximately 10:30 p.m.

RCMP are asking motorists to avoid the area and find alternate routes. The investigation is ongoing.
