RCMP investigating significant damage caused to wind turbines in Caribou Depot, N.B.

Caribou Depot, New Brunswick – The Bathurst RCMP is investigating a case of mischief that caused damage to wind turbines in Caribou Depot, N.B.

Sometime between May 17, 2020 and the early morning hours of May 18, someone damaged ten wind turbines at the Caribou Wind Park located off Route 180. Significant damages were caused to the equipment while trying to gain entry to the base section. Three turbines were rendered inoperable and one turbine sustained damages caused by a fire.

Anyone with information, or who may have seen someone in the area of the Caribou Wind Park during that time, is asked to contact the Bathurst RCMP at 506-548-7771. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.crimenb.ca.
