Eskasoni First Nation, Nova Scotia – On May 21, RCMP in Eskasoni conducted a search for drugs and seized approximately $30,000 in drugs and cash. The drugs included percocet and hydromorphone tablets. This is a significant drug seizure for the detachment.
Three male adults from Eskasoni, were arrested and have been charged:
Andrew James Alex, 29, of Eskasoni has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking,
Keith Geoffrey Denny, 33, of Eskasoni has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking,
Mohan Francis Stevens, 48, of Eskasoni has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
All three men were released on conditions, and are scheduled to return to court on August 11 in Eskasoni.
This investigation was conducted by Eskasoni RCMP’s General Investigation Section with assistance from members of Eskasoni RCMP. Since April 15, Eskasoni RCMP has laid 24 charges for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. The detachment continues to work with the Chief and Council in a collaborative effort to address the issue of drug trafficking in the community.
